The judges of “American Idol” are impressed by this boy’s performance. Before finding out about his well-known father, Carrie Underwood notices something familiar.

Baylee Littrell gave one of the season’s most anticipated auditions. His father is Backstreet Boys singer Brian Littrell, who made a reference to the 23-year-old’s participation on Idol in early February. Littrell posted on social media, “I tried out for @americanidol recently.” Watch the season premiere to find out what happens on 3/9/25!

The announcement caused a mixture of cynicism and exhilaration. Bayle has spent the majority of his life performing and gaining followers. He began performing as an opening act for his father’s band when he was nine years old. He later made an appearance on Broadway in Disaster.

After his Broadway career, Littrell focused on becoming a country singer and songwriter. In 2019, he opened for Chris Lane and the Backstreet Boys on their DNA World Tour. His debut album, 770-Country, was also released in 2019.

Some fans believed Baylee did not need the stage that American Idol provides for aspiring singers. Most fans, however, were ecstatic to witness the amazing young artist, particularly Carrie Underwood, the new judge.

As Littrell entered the audition room, Carrie noticed that the man was familiar. “There’s something about you that looks familiar,” Carrie said before he revealed who his father was.

“It is not easy.” “I have always told everyone he is ten times more talented than I was,” Brian told the cameras prior to Baylee’s audition.

It was Baylee’s own song that stunned the judges.

“You are quite respectable. Carrie complimented Baylee, saying, “You are really good.”

“You arrived on an emotional level. I believe you have what it takes to succeed in this tournament.

As Brian came in and joined his child for a brief duet, Carrie fangirled.

“I think having your famous father join you would make you look bad, but it doesn’t.”

The judges unanimously decided to send Baylee to Hollywood since they all believed he had a solid chance of winning the competition. Baylee’s tale goes beyond just being Brian Littrell’s child.

At the age of six, Baylee was identified as having Kawasaki Syndrome, a rare childhood condition that results in blood vessel inflammation.

If treatment is not received, it could have long-term effects on the arteries supplying the heart. “We did not know what we were dealing with until we found his coronary artery three times the size it should be,” Brian told me in 2009.

Bayle was brought to the hospital because of ulcers on his throat, a rash that covered his entire body, and a high temperature.

Baylee was diagnosed after two weeks, but she received treatment immediately and recovered completely. Watch Baylee Littrell’s American Idol audition in the video that is embedded below.
