The orangutan discovered in 2017 was known as Alba. She has long arms and a strong grasp and all the characteristics of an orangutan, but unlike the others, her fur is lighter and almost white. As a result, she is categorized as a rare albino.
Alba was stressed out and lost in a Borneo village until she was found. She was saved and transported to a rehab center, where she received the necessary medical care. Once her condition improved, she was given a space of her own to call home.

In May 2018, Alba was released into Bukit Baca Bukit Raya National Park. Since then, she has been under the supervision of professionals who monitor how she is adjusting to life in the woods.

Alba has come to stand for the effort to preserve orangutans since an increasing number of them are being wiped out from their natural habitat each year. This amazing natural object serves as a reminder of the value of every life and the necessity of environmental preservation.
